Alex Helmut is the representative of the Schwarzwald Republic for the Odin Temple Expedition in Hugel. She is assisted by her younger brother, Julian. Thanks to Schwarzwald's funding, Alex is able to afford paying expedition recruits for their time and effort.
She seems to have an intense dislike of her colleague, Laura Laurence.

Alex is first seen in Hugel taking part in the Odin Temple Expedition, a joint effort between Schwarzwald and Rune-Midgarts to learn more about the Odin Temple ruins. Joined by her brother Julian, Alex has been making slow progress in finding out scholarly information about the temple. As Rekenber's Guardians were inspired by Giantes, Alex and Julian were hired in the hopes that finding its ghost would help the company create better weapons of mass destruction.
It is discovered that Julian has always been jealous of his older sister and that their father always favored her over him. Alex admits that she knows this and threatens her brother to not do anything to jeopardize their true mission, which was to seek out the ghost of Giantes rumored to be hidden somewhere on the mysterious island. That is why Julian only went out to dig around Hugel at night, to find possible artifacts relating to Giantes around the town without alerting Laura and Ashe.
Unfortunately, their secret was found out by Laura who confronts them with hard evidence. A fight between the two women ensues. Eventually, the two teams pack up and leave Hugel, never to be seen again.[1]
