Shields are thick and broad pieces of armor that is used to protect oneself from attacks. Because of their expansive practicality, they can be used by a wide variety of job classes. However, only Crusader-type job classes are able to use them offensively.
There are two subcategories of shields:
- One-handed Shields - Light shields that can be handled with one hand. These kinds of shields are commonly used in tandem with swords and spears, although staves and maces are known to be used along with them.
- Two-handed Shields - Heavy shields that require two hands to handle. These shields are mainly used defensively as they are highly impractical for offensive purposes.
