Primarily a support type among the four Basic Class Homunculi, Lif is physically the weakest, and commonly regarded as difficult to level due to her lack of offensive skills and low physical attack. She is also the most expensive to maintain, requiring the consumption of Pet Food for feeding.

- In Norse mythology, Líf and Lífþrasir—female and male respectively—are two humans who are foretold to survive the events of Ragnarök by hiding in a wood called Hoddmímis holt. After the flames have abated, they repopulate the newly risen and fertile world.
