“ | My name is Robert. I am a high-level Laphine Life Restorer. | „ |
~ Robert |
Robert is a Donas Laphine who, along with Etran, helped established Eclage and successfully revived the Bifrost. He is a very quick-tempered person who has no qualms about grabbing others by the collar. Because he is the original architect of the current home tree in Eclage, he is the only one who can pluck a leaf from it without damaging the tree.
Story[]
- SPOILER WARNING: Plot and/or ending details follow.
Thousands of years ago, Robert cooperated with Etran to establish the new home tree and the Laphine capital of Eclage in a far eastern portion of Alfheim on the Bifrost. Because the Elder Assembly held too much sway over the Laphine leaders, Robert and Etran pretended to fight with each other in order to get their attention and propose their idea of a new home tree and the restoration of the Bifrost. They succeeded and so Robert began work to cultivate the new home tree. He put his life on the line so that Etran would be able to restore the life force absorbed by the tree to the Bifrost.
One day, Robert was transported into the far future by a Laphine name Hiel from that future. Unamused by the sudden change in environment, Robert quickly grabs Hiel's collar and demands to know who he was and why he looked like him. He then accuses Hiel of being a look-alike sent to assassinate him by the Elder Assembly. The adventurer returns in time to explain everything to Robert. At this, Robert releases Hiel and exclaims his head spins at the prospects of being thousands of years into the future. After acknowledging the adventurer's request to not hear any more complaints of look-alikes, Hiel then goes on to explain everything else the adventurer didn't know to Robert. Robert couldn't believe that the home tree managed to grow to its full form after thousands of years. The adventurer affirms it and Robert demands to see it for himself or else he won't let the norman off easily. The adventurer then leads him out of Hiel's yai and to the Bifrost Tree. Robert is awestruck by the future results of his efforts and begins to break down and tear up. Just then, he begins to fade back to his time and he calls out the adventurer's name in a futile effort to remain in the future.
Some time later, Robert is summoned back to the future to find himself in the presence of Hiel and the adventurer from earlier. He is upset that the adventurer left him hanging at the home tree and quickly grabs the norman by the collar. He then notices the adventurer holding an Old Laphine Relic that he recognized as belonging to Etran. The adventurer explains that he/she met Etran and showed him the Bifrost fully restored. The necklace was meant to show Robert that Etran will never give up now that he knows he will succeed. However, Etran was worried about Robert's home tree and wanted proof of its survival. Robert understands and explains that as the creator of the home tree, he cannot leave it. He goes to pluck a Golden Leaf from the growing home tree in his time and comes back to hand it over to the adventurer. He notes that he understands what Etran means and tells the adventuer to take the necklace back to the Donas Laphine. With that, he gives the adventurer a message to send to Etran and fades back to his time.[1]
